President’s Report December 2019

Our membership has remained fairly constant in the last couple of years, and the venues we have available are coping, despite being under pressure from many other organisations.  We now have to book venues for the year instead of each Term, and we send a big ‘Thank You’ to our members who have held courses in their own homes.

To fulfil our obligations all round, it is imperative that we get enrolment in classes as early as possible, and from everybody, so we have accurate class lists for our records.  The two enrolment sessions per Term should be sufficient to achieve this.

Moving beyond Aldinga, the Excursions have proved popular, and after a couple of delays, the chilly Night Sky Event at Button Road went well.  Christmas in Winter stalled a bit, however, the Thursday Lunches power ahead.

The laptop purchased this year made things easier for the lectures and program compilation as it saved having to re-locate one computer on a regular basis.

Our electrical equipment has been tagged thanks to Marg Hobby.

We have started to leave our Newsletters in the Aldinga, Willunga and Seaford Libraries, as well as the McLaren Vale Lodge.

The Name Badges our members will receive have a space on the back for emergency contacts.

We now have a list of historical and philosophical DVD’s available for loan to members.  Details will be distributed at the Xmas AGM/Lunch on 18th December.

Enrolment sessions for Term 1 will be held in January.  Details of times and venues are on the Enrolment Form in the Program.

We wish all our Members a Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year.
